Colleges prepare for nationwide recycling competition

Tuesday, 1 February 2011

Loyola University of Chicago and 554 other colleges and universities will participate in a nation-wide recycling competition known asRecycleMania this February. From the Loyola Phoenix:

For 10 weeks, every school participating in RecycleMania will weigh all of the recyclable trash they collect, report the data to a national database and will then be ranked according to different categories, such as total trash collected or largest waste reduction, said student recycling assistant Kelsey Horton, 21, a junior environmental studies major.

Sounds like a great idea! If you’re at one of these schools, find out how to particpate at recyclemania.org/
